Newly-elected Officials hold first Flag Raising Ceremonies

City government employees welcomed the new set of elected officials of the City of Santa Rosa officials as they attended their first flag raising ceremony on July 4, 2022.

Present during the ceremony were City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas, who is on her second term, and returning City Vice Mayor Arnold B. Arcillas. Also in attendance were re-elected city councilors Ma. Theresa C. Aala, Sonia U. Algabre, Roy M. Gonzales, Mythor C. Cendaña, Jose Joel L. Aala, Antonio M. Tuzon Jr., Rodrigo B. Malapitan, Wilfredo A. Castro, and new city councilor Jose B. Catindig Jr.
The flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall Grounds was followed by a Thanksgiving Mass at the City Auditorium.
As she starts her second mayoral term, the Mayor Arlene committed to double her efforts and continue the participatory governance she has been practicing since she was first elected in 2007. Vice Mayor Arnold Arcillas, on the other hand, shared that it felt good to be back as the Presiding Officer of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

For the first time ever, siblings Mayor Arlene and Vice Mayor Arnold will be working together in leading their home, the City of Santa Rosa.
"Kung ano man ang personal relationship namin ni Vice Mayor Arnold, hindi namin ito dadalhin sa pagtapak namin sa trabaho." Mayor Arlene said.
Having siblings in the top positions of the city does not mean transparency and accountability will be compromised, Mayor Arlene stressed. She said there is an advantage as both she and Vice Mayor Arnold share the same heart and passion for serving the people.
Mayor Arlene pledged the continuity of the programs, projects, and services of the city under the Four Pillars of Development, her administration's program of governance, stressing that reason why the city is progressive is due to the continuance of the city's program. Mayor Arlene believes that in continuity there is progress, and in unity there is strength.
